newcastle.gov.uk dataset - Bike Racks in the City Centre

Posted on 18th Feb 2016 by James

In January, Paul Armstrong and I visited many of the user group meetings happening at Campus North in search of people who were interested in city data. Paul was most interested in connecting to the community to find out what kinds of data people would choose to build upon.

He had a request for bike rack data and – true to his commitment – managed to secure a release just in time for our meeting!

NE Data Meetup - 17th February 2016

Posted on 18th Feb 2016 by James

We’ve planted our flag in the ground!

Thanks to all who attended our first meetup – it was energising to see such a spread of people, representing different sides of the community that needs to come together – exactly what we’d hoped for!

Thanks to our speakers:

James Rutherford (Creative Nucleus) – Open Data and NE Data Ambitions.

Simon Hanson (FSB) – FSB and Open Data.

Paul Armstrong (Newcastle City Council) – A Data Release for the Community.

David Jamieson (Hippo Marketing) – Experiences Using Open Data Personally and Commercially.

Our event hashtag was #nedatameetup.
