Our next meeting will be on Wednesday September 7th, at Bunker Coffee in Newcastle.
This month, we’re collaborating with Helix Arts HADADi to bring ideas about arts and data together.
Please note the schedule, outlined below, differs from our usual.
HADADi prides itself on informality – participants are welcome to drop in and out as they like. We’d encourage participants to stay for the entirety of the data workshop but will provide a break at 7pm for anyone who is unable to stay later.
5pm – Venue open (Auditorium in Bunker Coffee). Welcome snacks and drinks.
5:30 – HADADi-led show and tell of artistic projects. If you have something you’d like to demo, please let Dominic know at the beginning of the session for a slot (~5-10 minutes). Preference for data-inspired projects.
6:15 – Helix Arts’ Catherine introduces NICAP. Dominic presents an intro to the interface between data and art.
6:30 – NE Data present a brief introduction to open data with an emphasis on the North East scene.
6:40 – Workshop to mix art and data practice on one or more of the civic themes identified by the NE Data community last month:
- Health and well-being.
- Skills and jobs.
- ‘Digital divide’ and data accessibility.
7:30 – Social mixer over light food.
8pm – Venue close.
